lotsa dune stuff lately. dunno what’s wrong with me, but i’ll be thinking of a word and for some odd reason a dune quote or scene will pop into my head and it won’t go away til’ i draw it out. i was thinking about puppies when this one happened. i am broken.

i went to the emerald city comicon this year. it was a strange one, people didn’t seem as chipper as they did last year. here’s my haul:



i was so happy when geoff darrow sketched a dinosaur in the back of my copy of ‘big guy and rusty.’:



also, bruce timm was nice and drew a really angry batman in the back of my sketchbook even though he looked like he wanted to spit in my face:



i’ve been reading hiroya oku’s ‘gantz’ manga:



there are lots of big monster battles and badass moments like this (*spoiler*):



however, i was most intrigued by the extra content in the back of one of the books in which hiroya oku talks about pioneering a technique for toning nipples that uses a sort of gradient trail to imply movement of the breasts:



here it is used again in his ‘gantz’ manga:
